About

Rená grew up in the heart of the Midwest and was the youngest out of seven children. It is often noted that the youngest is more of a risk taker and an adventurer than her older siblings. This is true for Rená. She discovered her outdoor adventurous spirit when she was in college as it ignited a passion and direction like nothing she had ever experienced.

Most of the job and career choices she had involved the wild outdoors. As a professor she was able to build a minor in Outdoor Education, alongside her major academic assignments. She believes your passion can show up in what you do as long as it contributes to the welfare of your organization or group.

For the past 40+ years, Rená has climbed mountains in many parts of the world. She welcomed challenges, took necessary risks, and experienced fear, triumph and found resilience in those experiences. These stories have influenced Rená to help others dissolve doubts and mental stagnation and uncover their greatest gifts.

Rená lives in Colorado with her partner, 2 dogs and 2 cats, all adventurers too. She enjoys cycling, hiking, backpacking and playing pickleball.

Rená challenges people of all walks of life and experience, through coaching and speaking, to move away from their daily comfort and step into the unknown. She wants people to pursue their goals and dreams, knowing it will take risks and even failure to begin. There is no growth without change.

Rená certainly has a gift with making people feel comfortable. When I received my DISC results, she made the hour go by so fast and it was so fun to learn from her. She used examples and asked great questions that really got me thinking about how I present myself and how I am perceived. Additionally, her energy is something I’ve always admired and is contagious! I value her leadership and her many years in the classroom (outdoor classrooms included) make her the perfect person to give dynamic and equally powerful presentations! She is truly a gem!

GARNA, the Greater Arkansas River Nature Association, enjoyed having Rená speak at our annual Headwaters Institute, a day-long leadership training for raft guides new to the Upper Arkansas Valley. Rená did a fantastic job of conveying the what, why and how to of leadership to an audience of young people, keeping this, sometimes indifferent audience engaged in a topic that is so important to their safety and future leadership development. We would be happy to have Rená speak again at our events.
